exposure principals

exposure

Exposure is the amount of light required by your camera to take an image. Exposure is controlled by changing the width of time the shutter is open. It depends on how large or tiny the aperture us on your lens. The factors which are considered for exposure are light, aperture, and time.

shutter speed

On a camera the setting known as shutter allows light to pass for a determined period. The speed of the shutter setting is controlled by a ring outside the camera.  Slow shutter speeds allows more light into the cameras image being taken. Fast shutter speed helps freeze motion.

ISO control

The ISO control determines how sensitive your camera is to light. Generally for most cameras the ISO starts at 100 and can go up from there. The higher the number, the more sensitive the sensor will be.
